HHS Announces Additional Funding for COVID-19 Testing and Vaccination Rollout

On January 6, 2021, the Department of Health and Human Services announced that before January 19, 2021, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) will allocate over $19 billion to 64 U.S. jurisdictions (including the states, D.C., U.S. territories, and major cities) to support testing, contact tracing, and other methods to monitor and suppress the spread of COVID-19. An additional $3 billion will be allocated to the same jurisdictions to support COVID-19 vaccination efforts. Kentucky’s allocated award for COVID-19 testing is $257,152,034 and its allocated award for vaccination activities is $40,369,236, pursuant to the population-based formula employed by the CDC.
