James G. M. Lenschau is a member of the Firm’s Real Estate and Lending Team. He concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial real estate, secured lending, and related business transactions. In the area of commercial real estate, Mr. Lenschau represents investor groups, real estate developers, acquisition and leasing entities, small businesses, non-profits, and individuals in a variety of business transactions pertaining to the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of a variety of commercial property types including office buildings, warehouses, hotels, multifamily housing, and shopping centers. He is experienced in the leasing of real estate, representing both landlords and tenants.
Mr. Lenschau also represents financial institutions, lenders, and borrowers in commercial real estate loans, commercial asset based loans, and unsecured credit facilities. He has extensive experience in contract negotiations, title insurance, title and survey evaluations, leasing matters, serving as local counsel on multi-state transactions, providing guidance on matters of Tennessee law, and delivering Tennessee legal opinions. He advises and assists owners of real estate on matters related to economic development, entitlements, qualified opportunity zones, environmental matters, and brownfield redevelopment. He is an approved title attorney for Chicago Title Insurance Company.
