Wyatt’s Kevin Johns Elected as Fellow to The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Wyatt, Tarrant and Combs LLP is pleased to announce that one of its Partners, Kevin Johns, has been elected as a “Fellow” of The American College Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC), an international nonprofit association of lawyers and law professors who are skilled in the preparation of wills and trusts; estate planning; probate procedure and administration of trusts and estates. Fellows of ACTEC have no less than 10 years of experience of active practice of probate and trust law or estate planning. ACTEC states that lawyers and law professors are elected to be Fellows “…based on their outstanding reputation, exceptional skill, and substantial contributions to the field by lecturing, writing, teaching and participating in bar activities.” Wyatt’s Estate Planning group has seven ACTEC Fellows, while no other Kentucky law firm has more than three.

Mr. Johns concentrates his law practice in the areas of estate planning matters, estate administration, federal estate and state inheritance tax issues, special needs trusts, charitable planning techniques, business succession planning and general business matters. He serves on the Board of Trustees for the MSU Foundation, Inc. of Morehead State University, the Board of Life Plan of Kentucky, Inc., and is the President of Central Kentucky Planned Giving Committee, Inc. Mr. Johns is Best Lawyers’ 2019 “Lawyer of the Year” for Lexington Trusts and Estates. He has also been recognized by Kentucky Super Lawyers and Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America, and he has received the highest professional AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory.
