On January 20, 2010, the White House issued a press release announcing Presidential nominations being sent to the Senate.  Among them was Craig Becker for a seat on the National Labor Relations Board.  As reported in earlier pieces on this blog by Ed Hopson (see below), the President first nominated Mr. Becker last year; but before the Senate adjourned last month, it neither confirmed nor rejected Mr. Becker’s nomination.  Thus, the President had to either resubmit his nomination or make a recess appointment.   Now that the President’s other nominees to the Board–Brian Hayes and Mark Pearce–have been passed on to the full Senate for consideration, the renomination of Mr. Becker sets up a potential battle over him in the Senate Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee, where his radical, anti-employer views on labor law will be in sharp focus.
