Wyatt Awards Law Student with Hooks Scholarship
Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs LLP is pleased to announce that Benjamyn Elliott, a second-year law student at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, has been awarded the law firm’s Benjamin L. Hooks Law Scholarship.
Elliott is the sixth recipient of the Benjamin L. Hooks Law Scholarship, which will help to fund his tuition and course-related expenses. As a top law student, Elliott has been selected to serve as Managing Editor of the University of Memphis Law Review.
“Dr. Hooks had a remarkable career in law and public service,” said Lee Harkavy, partner in charge of Wyatt’s Memphis office. “We are honored that Dr. Hooks was with our firm for many years and we are pleased to honor Mr. Elliott with this scholarship.” The scholarship is given in conjunction with the law school.
A native of Fayetteville, N.C., Elliott received his undergraduate degree from the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C. “I’m grateful and honored to receive this scholarship celebrating Dr. Hooks,” said Elliott. “Wyatt’s investment in me will aid me in giving back to my community.”
