Kentucky Healthcare Phased Reopening Update
As reported last week, May 6, 2020 marked the start of Phase II of the reopening of healthcare facilities and services for non-COVID-19-related procedures. In accordance with careful restrictions and requirements, certain outpatient settings such as hospital outpatient facilities, surgical facilities, healthcare clinics, medical offices, physical therapy settings, chiropractic offices, optometry offices, and dental offices were permitted to resume outpatient services, surgeries and invasive procedures. Acute care hospitals are required to maintain at least 30% bed capacity (general and ICU) for COVID-19 patients. More information on this phased reopening can be found here. Phase III, resumption of inpatient procedures up to 50% of capacity, is scheduled to begin on May 13, 2020.
