Client developed a growth strategy of identifying platform industries where it could partner with proven and talented management teams committed to growth and it could provide intellectual capital (e.g., strategic thinking) and traditional funding to help growth within each such industry through add on acquisitions.
Client needed a deal structuring, business-oriented support team, including transaction lawyers to assist in executing on its growth strategy with the ability to multi-task and execute on multiple acquisitions and related financing in a variety of industries each fiscal quarter.
We developed a streamlined, but creative approach to negotiating and deal with entrepreneurial sellers and partnered with our client not only in the technical legal work, but also in strategizing and analyzing opportunities. As a result we have become not only a partner, but part of the team as well as close friends.
Client has invested in, or is currently investing in, over 10 different industries, and we have executed on the closing in excess of 50 transactions, together with corresponding senior, junior, and mezzanine debt financings. We have also assisted the client in the exit of three of the platform industries at a significant aggregate return on original investment to our client.
