Situation

A well-known professional athlete’s image and quote were being used by a company to make it appear as if he endorsed their products and services.

Challenge

This misuse of his image was harmful to his reputation, as well as to other companies the professional athlete had worked with to provide an authentic endorsement.

Approach

We filed suit on his behalf and worked with our client to prevent further misuse of his image.

Result

We successfully assisted our client in stopping the further misuse of his image, and protected his right to control the use of his image (“Rights of Publicity”), as well as his privacy rights.
