Wyatt Launches Software Practice Group

Wyatt is pleased to announce that it is launching a Software Practice Group as a way to better organize and enhance its already robust work for software developers and licensees. “This region of the country — Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana — is developing incredible software companies that are attracting the attention of individual investors and some of the largest private equity companies in the country. I see it every day, and have actually helped sell a few of these very successful companies recently,” said Emily Irwin, a Corporate & Securities Partner and Chair of Wyatt’s new Software Practice Group. “We’re also negotiating agreements on behalf of nearly all of our clients to license software for their operations, as well as helping to patent software, and resolve disputes over the terms and usage of software,” said Irwin.

Wyatt has brought together nine lawyers with extensive experience with software agreements, litigation, patent prosecution, and in Irwin’s case, the capital raising and sale of software businesses. The firm has assembled an overview of this experience for its website, which can be found here.
