Congratulations to Wyatt’s two extraordinary pro bono lawyers, Michelle Wyrick and Mitzi Wyrick!

Michelle Wyrick and Mitzi Wyrick were recently presented the Brown-Forman Spirit of Justice Award in recognition of their commitment to pro bono legal service during Legal Aid Society’s Journey to Justice.  Referring to her pro bono eviction defense cases, Mitzi has come to appreciate “…that sometimes a person is only one step away from being thrown into a situation that can change their lives.”  Legal Aid Society’s mission is to pursue justice for people in poverty. They provide free civil legal help on issues related to income, family, housing, safety, and health.  As Michelle stated in her acceptance speech, ”Sometimes the ‘legal magic’ that someone needs is just someone to stand in their corner.”  Wyatt’s managing partner, Franklin Jelsma, had this to say, “The firm is extremely proud of Mitzi and Michelle for their pro bono leadership.  Providing pro bono legal service is critically important to our communities.”
