Cynthia K. White is a paralegal with the firm's Real Estate and Lending Service Team.  She has over 30 years of experience in residential and commercial real estate, including sale/purchase and loan transactions, foreclosures, eminent domain, land use and zoning law.  Additionally, with over 15 years experience in the area of estate and trust administration, she assists the firm's Trusts, Estates & Personal Planning Service Team with the preparation of various estate administration documents and with the gathering of information required for the preparation of inventories, accountings and fiduciary and estate tax returns.

Representative Matters

  • Assists in the representation of a major national retailer in the acquisition and development of commercial real estate in Kentucky and Tennessee.
  • Reviews surveys, drafts documents, conducts real estate title examinations and reviews title insurance commitments, policies and opinions.

Professional Experience

  • Former Senior Paralegal with the Virginia office of a multi-state law firm.  Responsible for commercial real estate foreclosure proceedings, including review of all due diligence and applicable statutory requirements, the drafting of documents, the scheduling of sales/auctions, the maintenance of calendars, the coordination of closings and the preparation of accountings.
  • Former Paralegal Teamleader in a centralized unit within the commercial lending area of a multi-state bank.  Reponsible for the review of all due diligence, the drafting of documents, the coordination of closings and the post closing review of commercial loans for local bank offices, as well as the continued legal education, training and supervision of paralegals in the unit.
  • Assisted with the acquisition, from contract to closing (including eminent domain proceedings when necessary), of numerous parcels comprising a 33 mile railroad spur line to a regional landfill in an innovative private-public partnership between the Norfolk Southern Corporation and the Roanoke Valley (VA) Resource Authority.
