  • Representation of senior secured lenders in Chapter 11 bankruptcy of Central Appalachian coal producer; negotiated reorganization plan incorporating purchase of assets by lender and eventual re-sale of assets; handled administrative and priority claim objections for bankruptcy estate.
  • Representation of major creditors in numerous equine bankruptcies, including: New York City Off-Track Betting Corporation, Centaur, Inc., Magna Entertainment, ClassicStar, LLC, Suffolk Regional Off-Track Betting Corporation, etc.
  • Prosecuted all preference and other avoidance actions on behalf of Creditors Trust of Miller Bros. Coal, LLC.
  • Representation of Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in bank holding company bankruptcy in Southern District of Indiana and other related matters.
  • Representation of defendants in potential preference actions in numerous national bankruptcies, including: Polaroid, Interstate Bakeries, Quebecor, Chrysler, Appalachian Fuels, LLC, etc.
  • Filed and represented assignee in statutory assignment for the benefit of creditors of multi-state tool and die manufacturer.
  • Preparation of stallion syndicate agreements, equine purchase and sale documents, and simulcast agreements.
  • Preparation of report for Kentucky Attorney General regarding scope of search and seizure powers afforded to Kentucky Horse Racing Commission.
  • Advised numerous clients on issues related to Internet gaming, sweepstakes and promotional law, and charitable gaming.
