  • Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance.  Counsel for the following receiverships in various state and federal court proceedings, addressing recovery and administration of assets for the benefit of creditors and claimants of the receivership estate:

Anchorage Fire & Casualty Insurance Company;

Genesis Insurance and Financial Services;

XantusHealthPlan of Tennessee, Inc.;

Doctors Insurance Reciprocal, RRG;

Franklin American Life Insurance Company.

  • International Paper Company v. Ritchie, (Rthfrd Co. Cir. Ct.).  Successfully prosecuted civil fraud and $2 million asset recovery action against former general plant manager.
  • In re Allstate Insurance Company Underwriting and Rating Practices Litigation, (M.D.Tenn.).  Counsel for Allstate insurers in class action, alleging violations of the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
  • Tri-State Marine v. Heritage Mutual Insurance Company v. Logan Todd Regional Water Commission (M.D.Tenn.)  Successfully defended the Logan Todd Regional Water Commission in construction and design litigation brought by bonding company for the construction project.
  • Joe Minor v. Penguin Group (USA), Inc., et al. (Rthfrd Co. Cir. Ct.).  Successfully defended Penguin Group (USA) and authors of Bodies We've Buried in a defamation action brought in Rutherford County Circuit Court seeking $3 million in damages.
