Wyatt, Tarrant & Combs, LLP is pleased to announce that Stephen C. Hall, Partner and registered patent attorney, will serve as leader of the Firm’s Intellectual Property Protection & Litigation Service Team, effective January 1, 2017.
Steve Hall focuses his practice on both patent filing and prosecution before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) as well as patent litigation in the federal courts. A former research chemist, Mr. Hall handles a broad range of technical fields, from alternative energy and chemical processes to water testing systems and electromechanical devices. He handles all phases of patent litigation, including pre-filing investigation into competitors' infringement, patent validity, claim construction, expert discovery, dispositive motions, and written and oral advocacy.
Mr. Hall is a former President of the Kentucky Defense Counsel and former Vice Chair of the Biotechnology Law Committee of the American Bar Association. He currently serves as Vice Chair of the Patent Litigation Subcommittee of the Defense Research Institute’s Intellectual Property Litigation Section. Mr. Hall is AV rated in Martindale-Hubbell and has been recognized in Woodward/White’s The Best Lawyers in America for Biotechnology and Trade Secrets Law, and Kentucky Super Lawyers and Chambers and Partners USA in the area of Intellectual Property. He has also been recognized as one of the top lawyers in the area of Patent Law by Louisville Magazine. Mr. Hall earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Louisville, magna cum laude, and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law.
